Brush holder

Most DC motors require a brush holder or brush carrier – i.e. an assembly contacting the rotor in which both the carbon brushes and other electromechanical components are located.

Busbars, housings and hybrid parts

Eckerle specializes in the production of overmolded metal inserts or stamped grids.
With our in-house production of stamped and bent parts, we can offer an optimised process design for the manufacture of these hybrid parts. Applications include busbars, housings and hybrid parts in battery management in e-mobility, in the ventilation of vehicle interiors and in wiring solutions for the stators of electric motors (switching and contact units).

Rotors and stators

Rotors and stators are used for cooling combustion engines, but are also used for cooling tasks in battery management.

Special machine construction

Eckerle designs and constructs fully semi-automated and manual production lines. These are ideal for assembly technology, for screwing, pressing and for assembling components from several individual parts.

The production lines from Eckerle include systems such as: automatic stations, controlled assembly lines, rotary tables, conveyor systems, pressing stations, screwing stations, manipulators, individual part magazines, pick-and-place palletising systems, U-cells, welding and soldering systems, testing stations, etc.

Stamped and bent parts

With an annual production capacity of over 10 million parts, we manufacture conductor tracks, busbars and stamped grids in various designs for our customers. This includes the production of stamped grids for further processing in-house. Punching of Christmas tree geometries, pin geometries and welding forks. Processing of various materials such as brass, bronze and steel strips in material thicknesses from 0.3 mm to 1.2 mm. In-house toolmaking for the manufacture of punching tools as well as for maintenance and repairs.

Temperature switch

Maximum performance in a miniature design: The reliable and powerful temperature switches from Microtherm are perfect for installations in tight spaces. They ensure optimum overheating protection even under extreme conditions and in the smallest of spaces.

Applications:

  • Home: For e.g. roller shutter motor, aquarium, toaster, kettle, extractor fan, washing machine, dishwasher, air conditioning units, coffee machine, fans and ventilators.
  • Industry: For e.g. pump and fan motors, electric motors and heaters, transformers, cooling units; power tools
  • Automotive as overheating protection for motors: Windscreen wipers, heated side mirrors, seat heaters, motor windings
  • Charging park: Temperature management in cooper or aluminium windings and protection of electric motors by initiating protective functions, temperature monitoring in battery management to prevent batteries from overheating, temperature monitoring of high-current connectors
  • Hospital: Incubators, hospital bed motors, ventilation systems, ventilators
Temperature sensor

Microtherm sensors are used for temperature measurement. The value measured by the sensor is used for overtemperature protection, to trigger functions or to display the measured temperature. Our temperature sensors not only safeguard and protect electric motors and/or electric heaters by switching them off, but also provide signals for temperature indication, power reduction or other functions. With the help of our diverse manufacturing processes, we embed sensor elements in customised assemblies. This allows us to add value to a pure sensor element and build cost-effective measurement systems.

Applications:

  • Home: Power tool, vacuum cleaner and many more
  • Industry: Pump and fan motors, electric motors and heaters, transformers, cooling units; power tools and many more
  • Automotive as overheating protection for motors: Windscreen wipers, heated side mirrors, seat heaters, motor windings
  • Charging park: Temperature management in cooper or aluminium windings and protection of electric motors by initiating protective functions, temperature monitoring in battery management to prevent batteries from overheating, temperature monitoring of high-current connectors

HV assemblies

We offer our customers a very high degree of flexibility in the rapidly developing market for electrified highway and last mile vehicles thanks to our application-specific HV boxes. We serve quantities of 5 to 40,000 units per year. Due to the extensive production network of PRETTL with over 40 locations worldwide and dedicated plants, we are also able to produce smaller quantities locally close to the customer and thus realise the most ideal supply chain possible. This has a particularly positive effect on the CO² balance in the production of heavy components.

Smart actuators

Our assemblies are developed according to customer requirements, primarily for use in electric vehicles. Depending on the application, these are designed conventionally via a PWM interface or with integrated control via a LIN or CAN interface, for instance. Taking into account the production costs, we integrate sensors and microswitches for position detection as required.

Smart valves

PMA offers solutions especially for handling demanding media. You will find our valve assemblies in applications for conveying fuels, urea and all types of chemical or biological mixtures in agricultural engineering, among others. Our expertise in mechanical design is complemented by PMA's own development department for hardware and software. Our valve assemblies are supplemented by sensors for monitoring position, flow, temperature and pressure conditions as well as integrated valve control and digital interfaces in the vehicle or system environment, depending on customer requirements.
